UberWoWGuides is now partly free... this means that the guide and some utility forums have been opened up, and all users can now post or read those forums. I am in high hopes that we can all help bring this site back into prosperity of new life. Anyone can now post anything which is WoW related in these forums.
Most of the forums are now open so that anyone can read whether they are registered or not, but some of them, you do need to be registered to read them, such as the gold, pvp guides. Please help us out and add guides as well as read them.
We also still have a subscription area, this area contains 2 website scrapes some guides, and all the exploits for WoW. The VIP subscriptions have been lowered to $9.99 per year.

Leveling guides do not want you to know this truth, they want you to believe that you really can make 1-70 in 8 days or less. But I am going to give you the honest truth and explain it in simple terms. ALL leveling guides require 2 things... the first is rested XP. Rested XP doubles the amount of experience you gain while hunting. When you have rested XP, you can level twice as fast, then without rested XP. Now the thing about rested XP, is that for every 8 hours you are offline (at an inn or capital city), you get 1 bar (or 5% of total leveling) of rested experience (reference). That means to level 1-70, you need to be offline a total of 160 hours (8x20) per level. Now at 70 Levels, thats 11,200 hours OFFLINE - Thats Insane!
Now lets take this to the next step. If you look at the time played, it's always in days and hours. When they say 8 days, 5 hours, in reality you're looking at 197 hours played. Now if for some reason you actually had enough rested xp to get you through all the way to 70 (which is impossible at one sitting since they limit is to about 2 levels), you wouldn't play for 197 hours straight. Instead it is more likely you might play 4-6 a day... now I have done 8 hours a day, 5 days in a row... but again this was without rested xp. So assuming we did each session of playing upto 8 hours, you're still looking at 24 DAYS and 5 hours BEFORE you hit 70.
Questing DOES bring in more xp, then grind leveling. It's true! In 6 hours of questing, you can make more then someone grinding 12 hours. What does this mean? It means that playing 8 hours a day - with no rested xp, you're still looking at AT LEAST 16 days, but probably more like 20 days for 1-70.
If you have plenty of free time, and you like to play World of Warcraft EVERYday 8-12 hours a day, then let me recommend an awesome leveling guide, iDemise horde and alliance guides. On the other hand, if you don't want to grind. And you don't want to bot (high chance of bans for that anyways), then have someone level for you. I personally recommend ubergold.com. In the years I have been playing I have tried many different services... and I found out something really interesting. The really do hand level. A lot of the companies out there, will tell you they hand level... and get you banned for botting. Not UberGold. They only play 12 hours a day (like real people), and if you check on them, they might be questing in instances or grouping with others for hard quests. You can even got upgraded gear!
An easy way to tell if the company you want to use is botting, is to use this simple check. Are all the flight paths open. Are at least 1/3 of the quests done. What is your reputation with different factions. If you can, get on another character (different account - never the same account!), and follow them, if they run in circles or do the same path over and over, it's a bot. If it logs off after a few minutes of you following, it's a bot! Are they on, 24 hours a day. While you might think the end result is the same, it's not. Botting for one thing is cheaper - you paid for hand leveling remember. It has a high rate of bans (May 2008 had 340,000 bans). Because, they don't do the quests, it makes it harder to gain reputation later on as well. So trust me on this, ubergold.com, passes the bot test, they really do hand level.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with some of the people on the server I occasionally play. They were lamenting about the high prices of everything saying that everything was out of whack on the server economy.
Let me explain a little about what has been going on in recent months. Most gold farmers use bots and hacks to quickly gain gold. There has been a recent complication in these matters, with Blizzard. Well Blizzard as you know doesn't want farmers selling gold. So what they do is they actively pursue all gold farmers. What this means is that they are banning as many botters as possible. It also means that all accounts which are suspected farmers get banned, even if they aren't botters... Blizzard has been pursuing litigation with a well known bot, called MMOGlider - and they won. We are not sure what this means to the end users, but suffice it to say, that all bot makers are now looking over their shoulders.
Blizzard has also seemingly found a way to detect another botting platform called InnerSpace. InnerSpace interacts with WoW, and allows scripts to run, for the most part undetected... but again in recent months, Blizzard has been finding the users of this program... so, more bans.
A few months ago, Blizzard banned over 340,000 accounts. Now in the past when they banned a lot of accounts, they would stop for 6 months, let the farmers build back up, and then ban again... but this time, Blizzard changed their tactics, and are pursuing the botters and hack makers, with a passion.
All in all this means, that there are less farmers, doing your job for you. This also means that the gold prices are out of whack, and unless Blizzard allows farmers, you can expect higher prices all around, for everything, including the simplest of items like linen, copper ore, and light leather. It also means that it will be harder to just run to the local AH, that instead you will need to go and farm items.
Did I mention that a stack of copper ore on my server is going for 3g? 2 months ago, it was 80s. Happy gold farming!
